About Me

Coming from a childhood spent in Southern Baptist churches, I understand and sympathize with the disinclination to turn to religion as a source of comfort and community. After later stepping away from the heteronormativity and appropriation the New Age/Wiccan movement of the 90s I largely discarded my connections to spirituality and any concept of the numinous for two decades.

In 2019 I went through some personal struggles that did not set me up well for managing life in the time of COVID. By fall 2020 I had reached a very low, grim, point. Something had to change. I was fortunate to find a safe place to live and set up a new home for myself where I could, I hoped, find some peace. I was still grief-stricken, though, and terribly lonely.
